Tiffin University Center for Cyber Defense and Forensics, A DHS and NSA- designated Center of Academic Excellence.
The Center for Cyber Defense and Forensics at Tiffin University is committed to increasing capacities for cyber security personnel, training, awareness and research. The Center focuses on a risk-based approach to cybersecurity and leverages partnerships with Federal, State and local entities to emulate the operational aspects of cybersecurity.
The Center aims to leverage its’ recent accreditation by the DHS and NSA in order to enhance student experiential learning opportunities and career development. The Center is an inclusive and interdisciplinary effort that bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and the applicable technical skills, along with a project-based approach to prepare students for real-world scenarios.
The Center for Cyber Defense & Forensics has been designated a DHS and NSA Center of Academic Excellence.
The Center for Cyber Defense & Forensics:
- The Center collaborates with the private and public sector to develop and fund state-of-the-art training opportunities; enhance the state and national cyber defense workforce; serve as an internship clearinghouse for cybersecurity students; provide industry certification opportunities for the region; and perform cyber-related community outreach.
- Enhances state, national and international cyber defense and forensics workforce by focusing on underserved populations and integrating military veterans
- Serves as an internship clearinghouse for cyber defense and digital forensic students
- Provides industry certification opportunities to students, veterans, government and private-sector personnel
STUDENTS HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
The Cyber Team has been established to participate in student competitions, including the National Cyber League (NCL). The team utilizes the Cyber lab on Fridays for dedicated practice.
